I've read that not only the majority of witches who were burned were female, but also the majority of the accusers. Bet that doesn't really surprise you.
War may be stupid, but it's the way of the world, I'm afraid. Unavoidable. Peace is an illusion. There's only war. With weapons, with words. All living creatures are at war with each other, all the time. Peace means that you are temporarily out of range. A moment's respite from the clawing, scratching and biting.
If it's any consolation to you, I have no intention of ever letting myself be used as cannon fodder by a society that spits on my gender. You're quite right. Men who sacrifice themselves are stupid. I'll make a run for it, even if it means leaving you and your loved ones undefended.

i think that in the first world war they died because they prefered to run into machine guns than lose status and reputations with their friends and be called a coward, just like a woman!

Astounding ignorance. Those forced into wars have never been given a choice. If they were it was either execution(often of others close to the conscriptee) or participation.
